World Literature Blog 4/5

I think people in that time believed in mythical monsters like dragons because 1) they had very active imaginations 2) it may have inspired them to become better if they thought sometng that bad was out there 3) its what they learned from those who came before them, it is what they were taught.  If its what they heard then maybe the stories were told for a purpose well duh but hmm they aided in highlighting a moral in a story or perhaps the stories were told for pure entertainment. i dont know.

I think people thought up “mystical explantions of creation adn death” becasue the things they were trying to explain were very tough subjetc matters.  Things that we may never have real answers for, the unexplainable, so they used mysitcial or magical ways to to do becasue that is what it proabbly was to them, magic.  How a person can die or how the world was created. 

I have never traveled out of the country before. I wanted to go on the spain trip this up coming summer with school but i dont think i will.  If i could go anywhere i would go to venice italy becasuei would want to ride on a gondala  and eat gelato and pizza and pasta all day and i just think venice and italy as a whole are really pretty.  I would also want to go to africa as i mentioned in my first blog.  I find africa interesting and would love to travel there sometime before i die. but no where near egypt because i really am not interested in it, i would have to go to southern africa.  while im dreaming I would like to go mexico as well becasue my grandmother was born there adn i would love the food. im really hungry right now becasue it is fifth hour.

If i could meet anyone dead or alive i would want to meet Oprah or Ghandi or Maya Angelou becasue they are people i look up to and admire.  they all have made a difference in the world and i think it woul dbe fun to have a mature conversaton with them.  I think ghandi would have some pretty interesting and philosophical stuff to say.  I think Oprah would be easy to have a conversation with because she is so open and laid back and i’d probably get something for free.  Maya Anglou would be interesting to meet because i have read her work and Oprah looks up to her and i would like to learn more about her life as well as Oprahs and Ghandis.  I think becasue they have all experienced so much and have so much wisdom they could sahre it with me. Also Oprah lives in Chicago, which is my favorite city in the US.  So yeah…

If my house was burning down and assuming i had my cell phone and purse on me,and if i could only take two things i would probably take my photo album and my cds.  The photo ablum is really important to me because pictures are really important to me.  They take me back to whenever the picture was taken and they include people that mean the most to me.  I was thinking about taking my hair straightener but i could buy a new one of those, pictures can not be bought.    I would take my cds because i couldnt carry my computer i would want to take my computer becasue it has a lot of my writing pieces on it and of course, my music.  Music is really important to me becasue no matter how i am feeling there is always a song i can listen to to either reflect that feeling or, cheer me up.  I listen to music all of time. 

If i could go anywhere in the world i would go to rwanda africa right now. i think it would be interesting to learn more about the culture adn there are jungles present to investigate. I dont really have a specific place but somewhere in southern africa. I think it would be a good learning experience and i would become more appreciative of what i have.  I think just getting more informed and actually experiencing other cultures is important.  I dont know what time period but sometime within the last 20 years because i only like and am interested in present day or times relativily recent. I am facinated by Africa and the way they live and I want to see experience ideas or issues presented in the book Things Fall Apart; thatbook and the movie Hotel Rwanda inspire me and just intrest and fascinate me. so yeah…
